N.C. Lawmakers Release Long-Awaited Budget. What’s In and What’s Out?

The first comprehensive state spending plan in more than two years includes additional funding for election oversight, but doesn’t resolve differences over MLB expansion and NCInnovation.

Republican leaders released their much-anticipated state budget on Tuesday morning. We’ll have more to report as it inches toward the finish line this week, but here are eight new developments that depart from the framework lawmakers released last month.
